Vaco named a Best Place to Work by Cincinnati Business Courier

Vaco Press Release - Vaco Best Places to Work List Cincinnati

CINCINNATI – Sept. 25, 2020 – Vaco, a talent and solutions firm that provides managed services, contract staffing, executive search and direct hire solutions to more than 50 markets around the globe, has been named as one of the Best Places to Work in Cincinnati by the Cincinnati Business Courier.

The Best Places to Work survey and awards program was designed to recognize companies and organizations in the Greater Cincinnati region that are setting the bar for how to keep employees happy and engaged.

This award is extremely meaningful to Vaco because of its core promise: no matter where someone is in their life, when they come to Vaco, they should come with the opportunity to retire there. We seek to hire individuals who believe in the importance of building and maintaining positive relationships, striving for continuous improvement and delivering consistently exceptional services. Our goal is to foster an environment in which all employees [Vaconians] can reach their highest potential. Cincinnati is a key growth market for Vaco, which has experienced rapid expansion, serving more than 280 clients and placing more than 1,585 candidates since 2014.

“Even though a lot of us come from different places, we have a common understanding of what we need to do as a team. It propels our culture,” said Chris Persiani, managing partner of Vaco’s Cincinnati office. “We are grateful for the opportunity to receive this recognition as it is a clear reflection of our dedication to people.”

“There are many aspects to Vaco’s culture that go beyond the trappings of ‘fun’ (shuffleboard, espresso machines, nitro cold-brew on tap, etc.,) but the glue that makes our culture inimitable is a balance between camaraderie and personal accountability,” said Steve Shoemake, managing partner of Vaco’s Cincinnati office. “For the few companies that thread the needle of having both, this elevates them from a great place to work to one of the Best Places to Work.”

Companies from across the county entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work winners. The first part consisted of an employee survey, conducted by Quantum Workplace, to measure the employee experience. The second part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, team effectiveness, work recognition, senior leadership and benefits. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings in five size categories: 10 to 24 employees, 25 to 49 employees, 50 to 99 employees, 100 to 199 employees and 200 or more employees.

To be considered for participation, companies had to be located in the 15-county Greater Cincinnati region and have more than 10 employees.
