Rules of Conduct for California CPAs
In this webinar, we will leverage California laws, rules, and regulations to create a reliable ethical framework. We will also discuss nationally recognized codes of conduct with an emphasis on how the codes relate to professional responsibilities.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Navigate the California Board of Accountancy Regulations and the Business and Professions Code (laws, rules, and regulations) to identify the codes of conduct you must adhere to.
- Understand nationally recognized codes of conduct, as well as articulate how the codes relate to professional responsibilities.
- Integrate your personal values with your knowledge of California laws, rules, and regulations to address the ethical dilemmas that surround the public accountancy profession.
We will take a 1 hr break in between sections
Part 2 Program Description
Putting Your Ethical Framework Into Practice
In this webinar, we will put our ethical frameworks into practice, and stress test them by using real situations and ethical dilemmas that threaten the integrity of the accounting profession.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Recognize the root cause of ethical dilemmas in the accounting profession.
- Label the various types of ethical dilemmas that occur and classify them in order to identify the best course of action for resolving those dilemmas.
- Classify case studies into categories in order to identify how to apply the ethical framework we developed in the first session titled "Rules of Conduct for California CPAs."
How to earn your credit:
- Participants of the live broadcast are eligible to receive 4 CPE credits in Regulatory Ethics. You will need to attend for 200+ minutes and answer 12+ polling questions.
- Partial credit will not be offered.
- For the best experience, we recommend attending the webinar on a desktop or laptop using a Chrome browser.
- If you are unsure if this qualifies, please contact your state's Board of Accountancy to ensure Ethics credit eligibility.
